Objective: The primary objective of this proposal is to establish a policy within FLDAO that safeguards intellectual property (IP) while ensuring transparency and accessibility to the community. Specifically, this policy aims to delineate the sharing protocols for GitHub repositories related to the R0AR Token, R0AR xCHANGE, and associated projects.

Background: FLDAO recognizes the critical importance of fostering an open-source culture within the community while simultaneously safeguarding proprietary elements integral to the R0AR ecosystem. As such, it is imperative to devise a structured approach that balances the community's need for access to code-bases with the imperative to protect intellectual property that is to only be revealed in future releases.

Policy Proposal:

Version-Based Repository Sharing:
- Current & Beta Version Repositories: All GitHub repositories corresponding to R0AR Token, R0AR xCHANGE, and related projects' current live full versions (Vc) as well as beta versions (Vb) shall be shared publicly. This includes core functionalities and features necessary for community engagement and collaboration as well as upgrades and development.
- Alpha Version Repositories: Upon the development of subsequent versions (Va) of the aforementioned projects, repositories will always begin in a private setting. This firewall aims to protect proprietary add-ons, innovations, and enhancements vital for maintaining competitive advantage and securing intellectual property rights if needed.
Access Protocol:
- Public Repositories (Vc & Vb): Access to Vc & Vb repositories shall be openly available to the community. Contributors, developers, and interested parties can view, fork, and propose modifications or enhancements via pull requests.
- Private Repositories (Va): Access to Va repositories will be restricted to authorized individuals within FLDAO and designated collaborators. Contributors may still engage in the development process through designated channels, such as issue tracking systems or designated feedback mechanisms.
Transition Plan:
- The transition from private (Va) to public beta (Vb) repositories will be executed systematically and transparently.
- A designated announcement will precede the transition, providing stakeholders with advance notice and relevant information regarding the change in repository accessibility.
- Prior public (Vc) repositories will always be accessible even as new Beta and Current repositories are made public.
Termination Clause:
- This proposal shall conclude upon the full release of R0AR xCHANGE and R0AR Token into the forthcoming R0AR DAO. At this juncture, all code-bases associated with these projects shall become the sole property of the community, subject to full rights and licensing from FLDAO. And this policy will conclude as all public and private data and repositories will become the property of the R0AR DAO members and community.
